I actually did the mistake of putting my foot up in a Muslim country. After receiving some really bad stares and shakes of disapproval I remembered that it is an insult in that part of the country and promptly lowered my foot. Always keep in mind the people who are around you so you do not offend them! Always try to be conscious of those in your area as you are a guest in their land.
